What to wear to your shoot
Solid colours and natural fabrics photograph best. Avoid large logos and very fine patterns, which can shimmer on camera.
Working with window light at home
A single large window and a pale wall can produce better portraits than most studio setups. Turn off the lamps and let the daylight do the work.
Choosing a location for a portrait session
The best location is rarely the most scenic one. Look for open shade, a simple background and somewhere you feel at ease.
